About The Position

Founded in 1982 as Joliet Area Community Hospice, Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care is an independent, nonprofit healthcare provider licensed in 11 counties in Illinois. We provide exceptional serious illness care, hospice care and grief support for adults and children. The majority of our direct patient care is in the field with Lightways team members providing care in the home, nursing facility or assisted living facility. We also have a 24-bed inpatient unit in Joliet. Non-clinical staff are based out of our Joliet administrative offices. We currently have a full time Human Resources Generalist position available. The Human Resource (HR) Generalist will undertake a wide range of HR tasks, to include new hire onboarding, assisting in the administration of employee benefits and leaves, performance management, employee relations, and enforcing company policies and practices. The position will be a main point of contact for employee inquiries on HR related topics including:

Responsibilities

Perform routine tasks required to administer and execute HR programs.
Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace.
Assist in talent acquisition and recruitment processes.
Develop and implement HR policies.
Handles employment related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Oversee new hire onboarding.
Conduct Exit Interviews.
Implement, update, and maintain employee recognition programs.
Organize semi-annual and/or annual employee performance reviews.
Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, applying new perks and benefits and organizing team building activities.
Comply with applicable federal, state and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintains knowledge of and follows all Lightways policies and procedures.
