About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist plays a critical role in supporting employees and leaders across Sahm’s Hospitality Group. This position is responsible for the day-to-day execution of core HR functions including onboarding, payroll support, benefits administration, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and compliance. The ideal candidate is approachable, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused, with a high level of integrity and sound judgment. This role partners closely with managers and the executive team to ensure a positive employee experience while supporting compliance, consistency, and a strong company culture across all locations. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field or 5+ years of experience in a similar HR role.
  • Previous experience working with HRIS systems required.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and data-entry skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Hybrid position requiring approximately 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday.
  • Combination of home office work and occasional visits to any of Sahm’s 10 restaurant locations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with weekly payroll processing and labor reporting.
  • Administer employee benefits enrollment and serve as the primary liaison between employees and benefit providers.
  • Maintain accurate employee records across HR systems including ADP, Toast, and 7Shifts.
  • Complete quarterly and annual state and compliance reporting.
  • Partner with General Managers to complete new-hire onboarding across the company’s operating systems.
  • Conduct employee terminations when necessary and manage all offboarding tasks, including system access and documentation.
  • Prepare and submit unemployment claim documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for employees by fostering an open-door environment for questions, concerns, and feedback.
  • Provide guidance and support during workplace conflicts, ensuring fair and consistent resolution.
  • Partner with managers to support employee performance, offering tools, coaching strategies, and documentation guidance.
  • Maintain and update the employee handbook in alignment with current state and federal employment laws.
  • Provide direction and support during workers’ compensation situations, ensuring employee care and proper communication with insurance providers.
  • Support initiatives that reduce organizational risk and promote best HR practices.
  • Manage job postings and assist with recruiting efforts, including phone screenings and coordinating in-person interviews.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to provide insights, recommendations, and strategies to strengthen company culture and employee engagement.
