About The Position

Thomas Grace Construction, Inc. is a prominent nationwide General Contractor specializing in retail construction, including new store developments, remodels, tenant buildouts, and more. With our headquarters in Stillwater, Minnesota, we are looking to expand our team with a Human Resources Generalist. We are seeking a reliable, detail‑oriented team member to support our employees and help strengthen our internal operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys transactional work and values accuracy, organization, and strong employee relationships. This role is an individual contributor that owns and coordinates all of the day-to-day HR operations such as Talent Acquisition, New Hire Onboarding, Compliance, Benefits, HR Administration and Offboarding. This position is not remote. It requires team members to work daily from our office in Stillwater, MN. Please do not apply if you are not living in the Twin Cities area or do not plan on moving. Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years HR experience; construction industry experience is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of construction labor laws, safety regulations, and union or trade environments.
  • Excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Ability to develop and recommend sound business and HR strategies that support growth.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems a plus.

Nice To Haves

  • SHRM or PHR certification is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Lead talent acquisition
  • Manage the full employee experience across the entire lifecycle. This includes recruiting and hiring, as well as onboarding, employee handbook compliance, and offboarding.
  • Manages employee disciplinary, terminations, and investigations.
  • Administer benefits programs. Work with CFO and benefits broker to establish best fits for employee coverage and the company. Provide assistance with new and existing employees in navigating the enrollment process.
  • Administer accommodations and other leaves of absence requests.
  • Bridge management and employee relations by addressing performance, concerns or other issues.
  • Assist leadership with the implementation of company-wide employee training initiatives and career development process.
  • Manage HR personnel files to ensure oversight of accurate, consistent and updated records
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employees’ compensation, benefits, and personal information.
  • Ensure compliance across all functions. Maintain subject matter expertise regarding these rules and regulations at the federal, state, local and industry level, advising Executive Leadership of any concerns.
  • Administer policies and procedures that support the company’s philosophy, culture & strategic goals.
  • Collaborate and partner with Leadership on initiatives such as compensation and salary planning, performance management, staff member recognition, to support the needs of the company.
  • Coordinate all training and certifications for new hires and ongoing renewals.
  • Performs other duties and projects assigned.
