About The Position

We are currently seeking a full-time Human Resources (HR) Generalist for our Long Beach, CA or San Diego, CA office. This is an excellent opportunity to join and grow EnSafe, getting involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients across the globe. As an HR Generalist, you will play a key role in supporting EnSafe’s scaling, multi‑state workforce of technical and professional staff. This position provides day‑to‑day HR support across employee relations, compliance, performance management, organizational development, talent development, and HR operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • 1 to 5 years of progressive HR experience.
  • Working knowledge of multi‑state employment law and federal contractor compliance requirements
  • Experience supporting both office‑based and field/project‑based employees.
  • Hands‑on experience with ADP or similar HRIS platforms.
  • Experience using Greenhouse or a comparable applicant tracking system.
  • General knowledge of recruiting, onboarding, benefits, and performance management processes.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and coaching skills.
  • High attention to detail, sound judgment, and professionalism.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, consultative environment.

Nice To Haves

  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification.
  • Experience supporting a federal contractor.
  • Experience in consulting, engineering, environmental services, construction, or related industry.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary HR point of contact for employees and supervisors, providing guidance on HR policies, procedures, and employment best practices.
  • Support performance management processes, including coaching managers, reviewing documentation, and promoting accountability.
  • Assist with employee relations matters, including conflict resolution and workplace investigations, as needed.
  • Partner with leadership to support organizational development initiatives that enhance team effectiveness and alignment with business objectives.
  • Support leave administration and workplace accommodation processes while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, and EEO requirements.
  • Assist with federal contractor compliance, including EEO reporting, documentation, and audit preparation (e.g., OFCCP support, as applicable).
  • Maintain accurate and compliant employee records and ensure HRIS data integrity.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring accurate completion of employment documentation.
  • Support recruiting and hiring workflows in partnership with Talent Acquisition, including use of Greenhouse (ATS).
  • Collaborate with Benefits and Talent Acquisition teams by providing general guidance and escalating complex matters appropriately.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes, systems, and documentation.
  • Contribute to initiatives that enhance employee engagement, retention, career progression, and leadership development.
