About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for overseeing various HR functions including employee relations, compensation and benefits administration, and the development and implementation of employment policies. This role involves managing personnel records and addressing matters related to workers' compensation and disability. The HR Generalist ensures compliance with employment, benefits, and workers' compensation laws and regulations, covering aspects such as hiring, discipline, employment termination, training, compensation, benefits, leave, and equal opportunity. The role reports to the Director of Operations and may involve additional tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Experience in human resources, employee relations, onboarding, and HR administration.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, interpret, develop, and implement HR policies and procedures.
  • Review and recommend amendments to the Employee Handbook annually to ensure accuracy.
  • Evaluate employee benefit offerings annually to provide competitive packages.
  • Maintain complete and compliant employee personnel files, including updated position descriptions.
  • Liaise with legal counsel to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements such as EEO/AA/FMLA/ADA.
  • Provide periodic training for supervisors and staff on HR regulations.
  • Design, implement, monitor, and maintain the employee evaluation program.
  • Design and implement an orientation program for new employees.
  • Support and recommend hiring selections based on organizational values and mission.
  • Promote diversity through recruiting, selecting, developing, training, and managing staff.
  • Routinely communicate important HR information to all staff members.
