About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Human Resources and/or designee, the Human Resources Generalist works closely with the Director of Human Resources on most aspects of HR functions primarily including in talent acquisition/onboarding, benefits, employee relations, record keeping, and compliance.

Requirements

  • Applicant must have a bachelor’s degree in business, human resources or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Applicant must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and superior verbal/written skills and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with COBRA, OSHA, FMLA and related state and federal regulations required.
  • Applicant must possess a valid driver’s license and proof of automobile insurance.
  • Must also pass a criminal background check and drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • SHRM/PHR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manages full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, resume screenings, coordinating interviews, and conducts background and reference checks.
  • Reviews and make recommendations to the Director of Human Resources for improvement of Agency’s policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters.
  • Monitors, tracks, and reports on attendance including records related to tardiness, absences, PTO, LOA, FMLA to ensure proper documentation is maintained.
  • Administer the Agency’s background check via fingerprinting and the BCI & FBI.
  • Consults with management on any human resource related area as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with I9 and E-Verify and periodically conducts audits.
  • Conduct personnel research and prepare personnel statistics as needed.
  • Participate in internal and external committees as appropriate.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation to assist in maintaining Agency compliance.
  • Maintains all employee files and applicant documentation including updates in HRIS.
  • Monitors performance reviews and ensure timeliness.
  • Assist in the following: Administration of the Agency’s drug and alcohol testing program. Benefit Open Enrollment process. Conducting exit interviews to determine trends behind separation. Gathering materials for various audits. Gathering data for worker’s compensation and unemployment claims.
  • Meets timeframes for timely and accurate completion of documentation.
  • Promotes positive employee relations and fosters excellent customer service.
  • Participates in training to maintain and improve job skills.
  • Performs duties with respectful communications and behaviors.
  • Maintains proficiency in all requisite computer applications and software.
  • Participate in and contribute toward accomplishment of divisional and Agency goals.
  • Maintains confidentiality according to HIPAA and Agency policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
