About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing Human Resources (HR) related duties on a professional level and works closely with the HR team and management. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations, training, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, and employment law compliance.

Requirements

  • Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Must sign the Statement of Faith.
  • BS/BA in Business Administration, Business Management, Human Resources Management, or a related discipline is required.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of Human Resources experience is required.
  • A minimum of 3 years of Customer service experience is required.
  • Performance management and administration experience is required.
  • Human Resources Information Software (HRIS) experience is required.
  • Employee Relations experience is required.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience facilitating meetings and delivering clear, engaging messages in all situations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess information and resolve issues promptly.
  • Must have high initiative, integrity, and a strong work ethic.
  • Demonstrates sound judgement.
  • Must be able to operate a Windows-based computer and navigate Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills-maintains confidentiality, remains open to others’ ideas, and exhibits willingness to try new things.
  • Excellent time management, organizational skills, and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good project management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • SHRM-CP or HRCI-PHR certification preferred.
  • A Charis Bible College graduate is preferred.
  • Outstanding knowledge of MS Office; HRIS systems (e.g., Paycom) will be a plus.
  • Onboarding and Recruitment experience is preferred.
  • Independent Contract Management is preferred.
  • Project management experience is preferred.
  • Teamwork and collaboration experience.
  • Prior supervisory and team leadership experience.
  • Compensation is commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all company personnel.
  • Collaborates with the Employee Relations Manager on talent acquisition, recruitment, and onboarding processes.
  • Support employee onboarding and help organize training and development initiatives.
  • Supports managers with job description development and position management.
  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics, such as leaves and compensation, and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of human resource policies and procedures.
  • Supports independent contract management with 1099 workers; includes contract development and administration, and temp-to-hire employment contracts.
  • Gather and analyze data with useful HR metrics, like time to hire and employee turnover rates.
  • Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form.
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Supports the development and administration of the compensation program and performance management program.
  • Undertake tasks around performance management.
  • Collaborates with Payroll and Benefits Administrators to support payroll processes and benefits administration.
  • Collaborate with HR Director and ER Manager to support employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and farewell interviewing.
  • Collaborate with the HR Compliance Manager to ensure training and organizational practices meet legal, policy, and regulatory standards.
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
  • Assists in the evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of the department in relation to established goals.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Maintains HR information system records and compiles reports from the database; performs audits in various HR functions to ensure compliance and accuracy of all employment records.
  • Coordinate and support immigration and R1 and H1-b Visa processing for employees, both domestic and foreign.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
