About The Position

The primary responsibility of the Human Resources Generalist is to support a wide range of HR functions, including onboarding and offboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance and talent management, and organizational development. This role serves as a key point of contact for employees and leaders, ensuring HR policies, programs, and benefits are consistently administered and aligned with organizational objectives. The Human Resources Generalist plays a critical role in providing a an exceptional experience for our colleagues while fostering a compliant, engaged, and high‑performing workforce.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required, two or four-year degree preferred
  • Two or more years of benefit administration preferred
  • Two or more years of customer service experience is required
  • Two or more years of human resources or a field therewithin required
  • Experience with AI and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and basic PowerPoint functions

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the insurance industry is preferred
  • Certification in benefits, or as a professional in Human Resources (HCRI or SHRM) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the recruitment team and administer the onboarding process, ensuring proper documentation coordination, and new-hire orientation to ensure a consistent candidate and colleague experience.
  • Maintain accurate employee records in the human resources information system (ADP) and personnel files, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and timely updates for hires, transfers, and terminations.
  • Provide first-line guidance to colleagues and leaders on human resources policies, procedures, and practices, escalating complex matters as appropriate.
  • Support employee relations processes by documenting concerns and partnering with leaders and human resources leadership to facilitate timely, compliant action.
  • Serve as the employee benefit administrator to coordinate and administer benefits and leave processes by assisting with enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries and by partnering with carriers and vendors to resolve issues.
  • Support payroll administration by submitting timely personnel updates, occasionally assisting colleagues with their timecards, pay, bonuses, RTO/PTO, and other necessary information, and serving as a partner on leave enrollment and administration.
  • Assist with performance management processes, which will include managing a timeline, overcommunicating with leaders, the administration and launching of the Performance Review and Reflection information, tracking completion, and maintaining documentation in accordance with policy.
  • Partner with our L&D colleagues to coordinate training and development logistics, when necessary and assist in maintaining learning records to support colleague growth and compliance training completion.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and internal policies by completing required postings, tracking required documents, using E-Verify and supporting audits and reporting needs.
  • Prepare routine human resources reports and metrics (for example, headcount, turnover, and recruiting activity) and communicate trends and observations to human resources leadership.
  • Support the administration of disciplinary actions and separations by preparing documentation, coordinating meetings, and ensuring final checklists and offboarding requirements are completed, including conducting exit interviews.
  • Assist leaders to support workforce planning activities, including requisition creation, position changes, job description updates, employee recognition forms, etc.
  • Respond to and resolve colleague questions submitted through the human resources inbox process within established service level expectations.
  • Assist with policy and program updates by drafting communications, updating templates, and recommending process improvements to enhance efficiency and colleague experience, with a particular focus on employee engagement- using tools from the Project Management Center of Excellent (PMCOE) program.
  • Coordinate and maintain required workplace postings and documentation, and support investigations, claims, or requests for information in partnership with human resources leadership and legal counsel as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive colleague and business information.
  • Serve as primary contact for newly signed employees
  • Field and manage any HR invoices and properly allocate, as necessary
  • Build and coordinate distribution of and manage employee surveys, share feedback, and elevate concerns as needed
  • Serve as expert for HR system to achieve efficiency in system; assist in the management of access permissions for leaders
  • Assist in the internship program onboarding and coordination
  • Assist with planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, firm-wide meetings, employee recognition events, volunteer opportunities, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations, as it pertains to building Company culture
  • Assist in the management of job descriptions, including coordinating updates with leaders and collecting signatures.
  • Assist analyst(s) and other teammates on items like compensation and benefits analyses
  • Annually complete and submit annual EEOC data collection report
  • Manage company recognitions related to life events (birthdays and anniversaries), place orders for gifts/flowers/memorials (births, marriage, death).
  • Assist in the coordination of scorecard and performance management events (i.e. Performance Reviews/Reflections)
  • Assist in maintaining and updating the employee handbook
  • Seek out and Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiencies and leveraging technology
  • Other duties as assigned
