Position Summary: The HR Generalist II provides hands-on support across core HR functions, including compliance, leave administration, offboarding, payroll, training support and HRIS administration. This role focuses on administering HR programs, responding to routine employee and manager questions, and supporting HR initiatives while ensuring consistent and compliant HR practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 2 - 4 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in an HR Generalist or HR Coordinator role.
  • Working knowledge of employment laws (FLSA, EEO, FMLA, etc.) and HR best practices.
  • HR experience in government contracting required.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel for reporting and data management.
  • Experience using HRIS systems (Paycom preferred).
  • Demonstrated capability in creating and facilitating training materials and presentations to support HR initiatives and employee education.
  • Familiarity with administrative support for visa and work authorization processes.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience supporting multi-state and/or remote workforces.

Nice To Haves

  • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-CP) a plus.
  • Onsite in Windsor Mill, MD and/or Tysons Corner, VA office 1–2 days per week, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist managers and employees with day-to-day HR processes and general HR-related inquiries.
  • Support talent initiatives, including performance management cycles, employee surveys, talent development and compliance training.
  • Administer employee offboarding and provide backup support for onboarding and orientation as needed.
  • Support benefits and compensation programs, including reconciling benefit-related invoices.
  • Maintain payroll spreadsheets, audit payroll registers, and track payroll-related changes throughout the pay period.
  • Coordinate leave administration, including FMLA, ensuring accurate tracking and documentation.
  • Support visa and work authorization processes, including documentation, compliance, and tracking for employees as needed.
  • Generate standard HR reports and support data requests.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and documentation in the HRIS.
  • Support recruiting activities for select roles, as needed.
  • Assist with maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
  • Perform other HR-related duties as assigned.
