About The Position

The Human Resources Generalist II is a client member partner who provides consultative, end-to-end human resources support to assigned members and leads the planning and execution of HR projects and programs. This role serves as a trusted advisor to member leaders, delivering compliant and business-aligned HR solutions across employee relations, compensation and benefits administration, performance management, training and development, and the employee life cycle. The HR Generalist II also manages a portfolio of work, ensuring high-quality delivery, clear communication, and measurable outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required or a combination of education and experience.
  • PHR/SHRM-CP and/or SPHR/SHRM-CP certification required within the first year.
  • 5+ years of HR experience or equivalent demonstrated capability; leads larger member needs and longer-range planning.
  • Works independently with minimal oversight; escalates appropriately based on risk and complexity.
  • HR project management capability: planning, prioritization, execution, risk management, and stakeholder communication.
  • Advanced knowledge of Federal and Colorado employment law, policy development, and practical application.
  • Capability to address employee relations issues with thoroughness and discretion.
  • Intermediate skills and knowledge in collaborating with vendors and implementing or supporting HR technology tools (HRIS, Payroll, Benefits Administration, ATS).
  • Advanced organizational skills, attention to detail, quality control, delegation (as applicable), and process management.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Support our client members in assessing and responding to employee relations issues, including employee misconduct concerns, ensuring appropriate documentation, process integrity, and alignment with compliance requirements.
  • Provide guidance and/or administration support related to compensation and benefits, employee development, training, and performance management.
  • Partner with leadership to support the employee life cycle (talent acquisition support, onboarding, engagement, management practices, and offboarding).
  • Advise and educate leaders on HR policies, procedures, and best practices to drive compliance and business results.
  • Leads complex employee relations issues/matters and projects; advises leaders directly; drives implementation of HR programs and manages retainer groups.
  • Leads larger groups and higher-complexity employee relations matters; manages multiple member needs and longer-range planning.
  • Partner with client members to define the project scope of work, objectives, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute member project plans (monthly and annual), monitoring progress throughout the project life cycle.
  • Maintain positive client member expectations by proactively managing timelines, quality, risks, and constraints; communicate changes and mitigation plans.
  • Provide regular member status updates and internal communication to HRx team members and leadership as appropriate.
  • Assign and coordinate HRx team members to tasks and projects to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
  • Direct (or support) research, design, development, and implementation of HR products and solutions related to compensation, compliance, and specific projects.
  • Maintain, manage, and provide feedback on balanced scorecards and performance measures to evaluate outcomes and recommend improvements.
  • Leads planning and execution for multiple deliverables; defines/modifies project plans; manages internal resourcing; ensures stakeholders are informed at key milestones.
  • Support the HR Consulting Manager with business development initiatives, including expanding services within existing accounts and supporting proposals for new opportunities.
  • Plans future member work and anticipates needs up to 12 months in advance.
  • Identifies upsell opportunities and informs the HR Consulting Manager.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.
  • Directly supervises or manages the work of at least one or more full-time employees (or equivalent) – HR Specialist. Provides input/recommendations on personnel actions, including hiring, discipline, overtime, and terminations, in accordance with policy and applicable law.
