About The Position

The CSI is seeking a self-motivated, solutions-driven temporary Human Resources Generalist 2. This position coordinates and delivers human resources services for the agency, including performance management, job description creation and classification, recruitment, coaching, employee relations, career planning and development, data analysis, and compensation management. This is an on-site position located in Helena, Montana (not eligible for teleworking) and is a temporary position offering up to 12 months of employment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field.
  • Three years of specialized human resources experience.
  • Other combinations of education and experience may be substituted.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of State HR systems, including SABHRS and SOMRS
  • Certification from the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) or the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI)

Responsibilities

  • Establish, implement, maintain, interpret, and explain human resources policies, procedures, practices, and regulations/laws.
  • Investigate employee relations and performance issues and provide guidance and recommendations to management.
  • Provide operational HR expertise and solutions using a comprehensive understanding of a variety of HR functional areas.
  • Write job descriptions and classify positions.
  • Develop and coordinate recruitment and selection processes.
  • Conduct investigations, write reports, and make recommendations based on conclusions.
  • Lead responses to grievances, formal complaints, or claims.
  • Provide management training and coaching on human resource topics, including performance management, interviewing, discipline, documentation, and coaching.
  • Gather relevant data and metrics, provide insightful analysis in support of decision making, and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Must be able to work with highly sensitive and confidential information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Develop and implement employee communication plans and methods in response to organizational changes and/or HR processes.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and data entry programs, including creating spreadsheets, working with data, and creating documents.
