About The Position

Ready Seafood Company Human Resources Director Saco, ME Ready Seafood Company is seeking a Human Resources Director , to be based in their Saco, ME office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of HR management experience; preferred experience with manufacturing or food production.
  • Proven ability to build trusting, collaborative relationships with employees, managers, and cross‑functional partners to support a positive workplace culture.
  • Thorough understanding of employment laws and regulations, with the ability to ensure compliant HR practices and guide leaders on workplace issues.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to navigate conflict, manage details effectively, and deliver clear verbal and written information.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Ability to work onsite in the Saco, ME office and travel to other office locations as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with the leadership team to support the organization’s people needs and priorities.
  • Oversees HR team across all US entities with communication and support to Canadian HR team.
  • Provides support and guidance to HR team, management, and other staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise.
  • Supports and guides employee disciplinary processes, investigations, and terminations while helping the company manage risk appropriately.
  • Manages the talent acquisition process, which may include recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of qualified job applicants.
  • Monitors compensation and benefits practices and makes recommendations to ensure pay and benefits remain competitive and aligned with the organization’s goals.
  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Oversees the compliant HR acquisition of new companies including onboarding of new staff into HRIS and educating new companies on Ready Seafood payroll/policies.
  • Oversees the benefits & wellness program, including annual open enrollment, plan selection, educational meetings, and administration, working closely with benefit broker.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
  • Serve as the primary HR liaison to the parent company, providing quarterly reporting, and participating in scheduled monthly meetings to ensure alignment on people strategy, compliance, and organizational priorities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
