About The Position

May Institute is currently seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to support the Adult Services Eastern Massachusetts Division by collaborating and partnering with Center Leadership to support business initiatives as it relates to human resources functions. Weekly day travel to Revere, MA and Randolph, MA as well as other programs within the Metro Boston area. This includes but not limited to: Managing employee relations & engagement Guiding and counseling managers with performance Management, conflict resolution, employee mediation and HR policy guidance and interpretation. Conducts investigations, reports findings and makes recommendations to supervisor and the center / dept. leadership on disciplinary actions and training. Participates in unemployment hearings as needed. Oversees the facilitation of human resources activities related to onboarding, document/ file management, separation process, HRIS reporting, training, leave management, and/or benefits as well as overall human resource support for the Center or (s). On-call responsibilities during non-office hours as needed. Your Skills and Talents: A Winning Combination!

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive human resources experience in operations, employee relations, and employment law.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong workplace investigations experience required.
  • Good working knowledge of labor and employment laws and practices.
  • Attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to function independently and as part of a team.
  • Strategic and innovative thinker who possesses the ability to solve complex problems for issue resolution; creatively and resourcefully resolve elevated issues while applying sound judgment and accountability.

Nice To Haves

  • SHRM or PHR Certification preferred.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
