About The Position

The Human Resources Business Partner serves as a strategic business partner, responsible for managing the Human Resource function for his/her respective business unit. Services provided under the direction of this position include the employee relations, organizational development, recruitment and other general Human Resources services. Additionally, the Human Resources Business partner is responsible for the development of processes and metrics that support the achievement of the organization’s business goals. Essential duties include commitment to Company mission and values, ability to interact with the public and other employees in a positive manner and promote a cooperative working environment, consistently setting the example of professional appearance and standards of behavior, and being able to form and maintain effective partnerships across organizational boundaries. The role requires excellent oral and written communications skills in English, the ability to handle sensitive information and maintain confidentiality, and coordinating several projects at the same time while prioritizing competing demands on time frames. The HRBP must be able to listen objectively to employee concerns and complaints and act in accordance with all Company policies and procedures and in compliance with applicable local, state, and federal human resource laws and regulations. They will annually review and make recommendations to Management for improvement of policies, procedures, and practices on personnel matters, maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and insure compliance, and work with corporate and field Management to resolve general employee relations issues, gathering information for investigations. The position requires consistently demonstrating respect and appreciation for the efforts of others, espousing and integrating a philosophy of quality, setting an example for change and new concepts, and assisting in developing, coordinating and implementing all HR programs within the business unit to leverage efficiencies and gain productivity. The HRBP typically negotiates in a competitive or adversarial environment and faces situations that have a variety of interpretations and require careful evaluation. The role also requires the ability to travel to any location where the Company operates and expand territory as business needs dictate, and the ability to attend various meetings as requested with minimal advanced notice.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or appropriate equivalent with HR focus from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 8 years of human resources experience
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills (including public speaking) in English.
  • Knowledge of labor law on a state and federal level with continuing education credits.
  • Pass the drug test
  • Ability and willingness to work a flexible Full Time schedule that may include weekends and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • PHR Certified Professional (PHR) preferred.
  • at least three years of manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Spanish strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees recruiting and staffing needs within their business unit.
  • Provides and trains management on selection and staffing resources and tools. May plan, coordinate and attend job fairs.
  • Counsels and coaches management on business decisions related to personnel issues, leadership and management effectiveness.
  • Represents HR in companywide initiatives.
  • May conduct training classes on HR issues.
  • Addresses turnover and looks for trends and problems.
  • Identifies breaches of culture/values that impact workplace.
  • Drives compliance by supporting consistency in practice of policies & procedures and employment law.
  • Provides effective leadership to any assigned staff.
  • Periodically reviews human resource related contracts and arrangements (i.e., employee insurance, Wellness Program, EAP etc.) and makes appropriate recommendations as to changes and additions and ensures they are current and timely.
  • Works with management to ensure company is free of harassment and discrimination. Investigates any such claims promptly.
  • Serve on appropriate committees internally and externally as assigned.
  • Manage and administer an equitable, metrics-based performance Management program.
  • Manage and administer a wage and salary system.
  • Meets or exceeds the Company’s goals of employee/customer satisfaction for the Human Resource Department.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
