About The Position

The Human Resources Assistant is an integral part of Latham’s Human Capital & Talent team. This role will be responsible for supporting the Human Resources (HR) department by ensuring that all employee lifecycle activities are completed and delivered in a timely manner, while performing all assistant HR duties and activities for the department, ensuring deadlines are met and requests are actioned promptly and accurately. Please note that this role will be in-office 4 days and 1 day remote on a weekly basis. The hours for this position are Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00 PM.

Requirements

  • A minimum of one (1) years’ experience in HR
  • A bachelor’s degree, focus in a HR related field, preferably; a minimum of one (1) years’ HR experience may be considered
  • Possess wide ranging knowledge of Human Resources functions
  • Display well-developed and professional interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels of the firm
  • Demonstrate the ability to work in a team environment with a customer service focus

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating employee lifecycle processes including onboarding and orientation, departures, and transfers and providing support to the team with regard to all employee lifecycle queries to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner, escalating any complex queries and discussing solutions with senior members of the HR team
  • Acting as a first point of contact, providing HR information and advice regarding the Firm’s policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with the firm’s standard operating procedures and local legislative requirements
  • Monitoring and responding to requests in the ServiceNow ticketing system for the HR department ensuring all service level agreements are met
  • Maintaining and developing strong working relationships with all stakeholders and relevant global departments across the firm, in particular the Global Human Resources Department, the Global Benefits Department, the appropriate regional Payroll Departments, and any other local or global departments as necessary
  • Maintaining personnel files and data to ensure complete confidentiality and compliance with all legal regulations and firm policy, as well as maintaining all department documentation as appropriately directed by local and global leadership
  • Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains
