About The Position

The Human Resource Assistant is responsible to be assistant to the Vice President of Human Resources. This position requires positive communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a solution-focused manner and collaborate effectively with staff, vendors and community partners. This position will support all human resources functions for the agency, including Employee Relations, HR Compliance, Benefits Administration, Compensation, Performance Management, Onboarding/Offboarding. The HR Assistant must be a self-starter, action driven, flexible in changing direction and methods, and excel at managing multiple priorities, succeed in communicating with all levels within the organization and provide immediate contribution to the development and delivery of effective HR solutions.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of increasing responsibility in administrative role.
  • Proficient with computer usage and programs such as Windows and Windows-based software, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite.
  • Demonstrate outstanding verbal and written communication skills, and effective interpersonal and relational skills.
  • High level ethics and the ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary information.
  • Demonstrate positive attitude, resiliency, and flexibility in an ever-changing environment with multiple interruptions.
  • Demonstrated good judgment using sound analytical solutions based on decision-making processes and approaches.
  • Excellent and proven communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Fingerprinting and background check as required by the Department of Justice, and current TB clearance required.
  • Valid CA driver’s license, an automobile for agency travel, and proof of current auto insurance

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in business, communications or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Attend Recruitment event planning and implementation within collaboration with the Recruitment department.
  • Assist with the onboarding and offboarding of all staff
  • Self-directed and able to work independently, and as a positive member of a team.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse staff and travel to multiple agency worksites.
