About The Position

The HR Specialist will support the Human Resources Team's administrative functions, temporary labor coordination, and employee engagement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HRIS systems is a plus.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Must be able to sit/stand for 8 hours
  • The ability to use arms/hands/fingers to feel and reach
  • Be able to bend/stoop/kneel as needed
  • Must be able to hear and talk to communicate with internal/external customers
  • Must be able to push/pull/ lift at least 45 lbs. individually and 50 lbs. with the help of a team member.
  • Ability to work in an office setting, and spend primary working hours at a desk using a computer and other office equipment such as printers, copiers, postage machines, etc.
  • Ability to wear required PPE if in any manufacturing area

Nice To Haves

  • Internship or prior administrative experience in HR is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HRIS systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Liaise with staffing agencies to coordinate temporary labor needs.
  • Track and report on temp labor assignments, hours, and performance.
  • Assist in scheduling interviews and onboarding for temporary staff.
  • Ensure timely communication between departments and staffing partners.
  • Process the temporary staffing payroll
  • Assist with tracking and processing FMLA, Short-Term Disability (STD), and Workers’ Compensation claims.
  • Communicate with employees regarding leave eligibility, documentation requirements, and claim status.
  • Maintain and update employee records and HR databases with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including document collection and system updates.
  • Support compliance efforts by organizing and maintaining personnel files and audit documentation.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures.
  • Support internal communications related to HR initiatives and events.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
