About The Position

The Human Resource Benefit Coordinator will provide support services to employees regarding eligible benefits. Services include assisting prospective new employees in completing all personnel, payroll, and group benefit related forms through the online platform. Maintains respect at all times for the confidential nature of human resource information.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of human resources experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate new employee meetings as necessary. Provide guidance to employees for completion of payroll and eligible benefit enrollment forms.
  • Processes employment applications for all certified and non-certified staff and enters required information /documents into electronic personnel files
  • Maintains confidential personnel files for new, existing and past employees: criminal history checks, current licensing, transcripts, disciplinary actions, praxis scores, application, Expanded Child Protection Index (ECPI), Reduction of Force (RIF), and reference forms, sex offender registry search, personnel employment documents
  • Responsible for five-year rotation on all expanded criminal history checks
  • Assist building with volunteers/contracted support staff's expanded background checks and maintain completed reports
  • Assures SCS elementary instructional assistants meet federal Title I requirements
  • Distributes all annual Reasonable Assurance Letters for non-certified staff, ensures return of letters, and file in personnel files
  • Maintains certified staff statue and communicates with staff regarding upcoming license expirations and communicates with corporation nurse for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification training
  • Responsible for entering all new employee information in the State Department of Children Services (DCS) website in order to create the mandated Expanded Child Protection Index (ECPI) check
  • Enters all benefit eligible employees into the online insurance system and ensures completion within the 30 day window
  • Maintains employee information in multiple platforms such as training, insurance, electronic personnel file by activating new employees, deactivating employees that leave the corporation, and making changes to any employees that transfer to a new building or position
  • Collects all employees I-9 eligible documents and completes the E-Verification process
  • Responsible for handling all worker's compensation claims
  • Assists Business Manager with benefit management, Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliance, benefits inquires, and open enrollment and attends CISEIT meetings with Business Manager
  • Reconciles insurance self-bill monthly; collects supporting documents, updates spreadsheets, prepares accounts payable voucher
  • Ensures that the Business Office delivers excellent customer service to internal and external customers
  • Acquire and maintain certification through Indiana Association of School Business Officers (IASBO) HR training certification.
  • Maintains Public Official Surety Bond of $100K cost of bond paid by Corporation
  • Maintains satisfactory attendance
  • Complies with Corporation Bylaws, Policies and Employee Handbook
  • Models Corporation Mission Statement and Fundamental Objectives
  • Performs other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned by the Business Manager or Superintendent
