About The Position

Provide day-to-day human resources support and counsel including the administration of human resources policies, procedures and programs. Work closely with the Human Resources Director to ensure that HR programs are consistently administered in compliance with organizational policies and cultural values. Handle basic employee relations issues by investigating, interviewing, and reviewing available data in order to ensure “People First” culture is upheld and make sound recommendations so the appropriate next steps are taken based on all the facts of the investigation; will also assist Human Resources Director with high-level investigation by compiling available data for review and drafting final ER reports. Input all HR transactional data into the HRIS and manage the Employee Action Notice (EAN) system while ensuring data integrity. Perform recruiting functions including managing open positions on the applicant tracking system, contacting hiring managers, candidate sourcing, initial screening, interviewing, reference checking and selection. Track and analyze trends to make effective recommendations for improvement of the employment environment. Compose correspondence that requires knowledge of organizational HR policies and practices, as well as departmental initiatives and strategies such as; offer letters of employment, leave of absence letters and letters and/or emails notifying applicants of their status in the employment application process. Work closely with HR Director to ensure a high level of accuracy and customer satisfaction. Train employees by employment group on general topics of common interest or topics designed to increase employee understanding of and satisfaction in the organization’s employee programs in order to provide employees with a fair/consistent workplace in support of creating a “Winning Experience”. Perform administrative functions based on understanding HR policies and procedures. Many of these functions are confidential in nature and require insight into the “why” as well as the how and accurately communicate these policies to individuals at all levels of the organization. Coordinate and conduct the efforts required in performance management reporting and monitoring, demographic analysis, new hire orientation, customized HR training and exit interviews. Provide intermediate analytical assistance by running reports from the HRIS and applicant tracking systems and analyzing data extracted that would assist in the development and support of organizational HR initiatives, such as; turnover and hiring trends, employee and candidate demographic information, etc. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree; BA/BS degree strongly preferred
  • Three (3) years of Human Resources experience with hands-on experience working with a HRIS applications/transactions or equivalent education and experience
  • Experience assisting employees in matters of HR policies and procedures, with at least one (1) year of experience investigating and resolving basic employee relations issues
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills with accuracy and attention to detail
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to deliver timely professional services to customers in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
  • Advanced computer skills/demonstrated aptitude (Excel, Word, Visio, Power Point, HRIS)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust quickly to changing priorities
  • Must be able to work effectively in a matrix reporting relationship and be able to effectively communicate with all levels within the organization
  • Strong relationship management and interpersonal skills to build rapport and trust throughout the organization
  • Intermediate understanding of HR best practices, that will assist in interpreting the organization’s policies, procedures and processes
  • Must be able to work on sensitive issues with discretion and a commitment to confidentiality
  • Ability to complete well defined projects set by management in a satisfactory manner
  • Exposed to and have basic knowledge of negotiation and conflict resolution, employee relations, leadership coaching, and change management
  • Ability to make presentations to small/medium sized groups and consult effectively one-on-one
  • Must be able to work extended hours
  • Ability to enter a smoke-filled environment as needed
  • PHR certification, or equivalent certification demonstrating intermediate level comprehension of the HR Body of Knowledge
  • Must be able to pass a background check and receive a license or permit from any Regulatory Agency, if applicable to perform the essential job functions
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
