The Role The Human Resources & Operations Manager is a high-impact, highly visible role within our organization. This position sits at the intersection of people operations, payroll, financial oversight, and employee development , partnering closely with leadership to ensure the firm runs efficiently, compliantly, and strategically. This is not a siloed HR role. You’ll wear multiple hats, influence how the company scales, and help build a robust internal organization that attracts and retains top talent . It’s ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys variety, and wants to grow alongside a scaling firm.

Requirements

3+ years of experience in Human Resources and Payroll (required)
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and communication skills
Analytical mindset and comfort handling confidential information
Ability to manage multiple priorities in an evolving, fast-paced environment
Someone who takes ownership, solves problems, and wants to be part of building something meaningful

Nice To Haves

Experience working in a small, growing, or entrepreneurial organization preferred
ADP Payroll (preferred)
Google Sheets / Excel
QuickBooks

Responsibilities

Own all employee and contractor payroll, reporting, and reconciliations ( ADP experience preferred )
Manage onboarding and offboarding for employees and contractors, including documentation, system setup, and compliance
Administer background checks, drug testing, licensing, education verification, and reference checks
Manage workers’ compensation and unemployment claims
Oversee multi-state HR compliance, registrations, and licensing requirements
Maintain HR records, internal reporting, and company-wide communications
Manage operational and financial duties similar to a controller, including payroll accounting and internal reporting
Support QuickBooks processes, reconciliations, and coordination with leadership and external partners
Oversee contractor payroll processes and compliance requirements
Provide accurate reporting and insights that support leadership decision-making
Own the planning, scheduling, and execution of all internal training and learning & development initiatives
Lead new-hire orientation and support ongoing employee development programs
Partner with leadership and consulting teams to support internal training needs
Continuously improve onboarding experiences, training materials, and internal processes
Create and post internal job openings as the organization grows
Serve as a trusted, professional point of contact for employees, contractors, and external partners
Represent the firm with discretion, integrity, and professionalism
Contribute to building a positive, accountable, and high-performing internal culture
