About The Position

The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resource functions. This position oversees, and coordinates operations of the HR department and manages HR associates. The HR Manager takes a leadership role in developing a culture to enable associates to perform in accordance with Company objectives and focuses on delivering HR services that meet or exceed the needs of all hotel and company associates. The HR Manager reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and ensures compliance with all applicable laws, regulations and operating procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years in HR management, must have a demonstrated ability to lead a team and multiunit hotel HR experience preferred.
  • Professional HR certification required (SHRM and/or HRCI).
  • Valid driver license with record acceptable to Company standards.
  • Read, write, and speak English fluently, Spanish a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public, managers, associates and team members.
  • Must pass criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Executes on established staffing plans and hiring strategies.
  • Oversees benefits administration, leave of absence, worker’s compensation, and employee relations work.
  • Develops and maintains effective recruiting efforts, employee training programs, leads performance management, and manages benefits programs to attract and retain talent.
  • Directly responsible for the selection, training, supervision and performance management of HR staff.
  • Oversees associate relations and works with managers on coaching, corrective actions, disputes, and terminations.
  • Conducts and manages investigations.
  • Ensures compliance in areas such as FLSA, FMLA, OFLA, ADA and Workers Compensation.
  • Manages recruiting and sourcing of candidates for open positions.
  • Provides subject matter expertise to property managers regarding selection procedures and new hire onboarding processes to ensure a positive hiring and onboarding employee experience.
  • Collaborates with operations staff to ensure departmental orientation programs are effective and appropriate.
  • Maintains compliance with local, state and federal agencies regarding employment law issues and represents the Company in labor-related legal proceedings.
  • Ensures employee issues are referred to the appropriate staff for resolution.
  • Travel (30%) and after-hours work required.
  • Represents the department and company in a professional manner to all internal and external stakeholders at all times.
  • Follows instructions and accepts feedback.
  • Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position.
  • Other duties as assigned.
