About The Position

The Human Resources Intern will be introduced to a variety of HR functions and will partner with the HR Department on projects that have an impact on the Company’s operations. This is an internship for undergraduate and graduate students working toward a degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Communications, or related discipline. The time commitment for this internship is 20-29 hours per week and will receive compensation based on the city’s minimum wage. All Colorado Interns are required to attend all KSE Internship Program hosted events that occur during business hours . If unable to attend due to work, school or unforeseen circumstances, the Intern must inform the Internship Program Committee. All Interns are required to participate in the KSE Mentorship Program by meeting with assigned Mentor in person or virtually at least for the initial meet-up.

Requirements

  • Minimum High School or GED
  • Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
  • Ability to maintain positive attitude and demonstrate professionalism
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to complete work accurately and in a timely manner
  • Ability to work independently & in a group setting and demonstrate good judgment skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and adapt to changing environments
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Extensive knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
  • Ability to operate general office equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Nice To Haves

  • Working towards a BS/BA degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications or similar

Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in company and department projects.
  • Processes required paperwork for employee transfers, changes in job classification, salary increases, and other related employment matters.
  • Takes minutes during departmental meetings.
  • Assist with KSE Internship Program activities and initiatives.
  • Research, develop, and recommend procedures to integrate appropriate technologies into recruitment, development, and engagement processes.
  • Assist Human Resources department with organizing and maintaining personnel files and other HR records to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Assist with the HR quarterly newsletter by providing content, edits and distribution.
  • Attend monthly New Hire check-in.
  • Asist in planning and implementing employee engagement activities.
  • Participate as an active member of the Onboarding and Generalist committees.
