About The Position

The HR Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with management in supporting the HR Office. The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: HRIS administration including payroll (Paylocity), recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, benefit administration, performance management and HR compliance reporting and file maintenance.

Requirements

  • HR Generalist I: Associates Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required at a minimum.
  • Minimum 2 – 4 years of professional work experience in an HR Generalist role
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Experience with Paylocity preferred or other HRIS systems
  • HR Generalist II: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required.
  • Minimum 4 – 8 years of professional work experience in and HR Generalist, Specialist or HR Business Partner role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Experience with Paylocity preferred or other HRIS systems
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to manage a number of projects concurrently while maintain quality and meeting project deadlines
  • Demonstrate knowledge of communication techniques, both written and verbal, with the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management
  • Ability to be a team player and able to achieve results tied to business initiatives
  • Ability to enforce, to implement, and create company policies and procedures
  • Ability to work in a changing environment that periodically have unpredicted requirements or demands

Nice To Haves

  • Professional in Human Resources Certification preferred (SHRM-CP and/or PHR)
  • Senior Professional in Human Resources Certification preferred (SHRM-SCP or SPHR)

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with the HR Director to design recruitment strategies, including preparing and entering job descriptions and postings; managing job postings and the recruitment and on-boarding process in the Paylocity HRIS system; scheduling interviews; preparing offer letters; conducting reference checks; final processing of on-boarding functions ensuring that HR transfer is complete and changes made and conducting new employee orientation.
  • Serve as back-up to processing bi-weekly payroll.
  • Subject matter expert I-9 compliance, new hire reporting and e-verify.
  • Assists in the daily management of the Community and Home portals and other module maintenance, including report preparation and module maintenance to ensure system feature utility is maximized and updated as needed.
  • Assists in the on-boarding and enrollment of employees in health benefits and 401k plan (includes enrollment, changes, and terminations).
  • Assists in the Performance Management process.
  • Responsible for managing employee engagement functions such as Sunshine Committee, MVP of the Month program, managing engagement portal of HRIS system and others.
  • Responsible for managing Tier 1 Testing and CEU reporting.
  • Assist in the management and processing of claims for FMLA, STD, LTD and Worker’s Compensation programs.
  • Assists in the preparation of reports to support State and Federal filings as well as reports as requested for audit and other needs.
  • Completes special projects by clarifying project objective, setting timetables and schedules, conducting research, and developing and organizing information.
  • Maintain HR filing systems and applicant/employee logs.
  • Updates to HR websites as requested.
  • All other additional duties as assigned.
