About The Position

Yulista Tactical Services LLC Regular Primary Function Reports administratively to the Human Resources Manager at Yulista’s Huntsville headquarters and functionally to the AFRC Program Manager for day-to-day contract support. The HR Generalist provides comprehensive human resources services for the Aircraft Operations Support (AOS) workforce at NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC). Responsible for administering personnel actions, onboarding, employee relations, and benefits coordination for both exempt and bargaining unit employees under the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Ensures all HR activities comply with company policy, labor law, and contract-specific requirements.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. Experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Experience: Minimum 4 years of HR experience, including direct experience with union or CBA administration; aerospace or defense industry experience preferred.
  • Systems: Experience using Workday HRIS or comparable platform.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with FLSA, EEO, FMLA, ADA, and general employment law compliance.
  • Security: Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Other: Must pass background and drug screening; travel to Corporate HQ or other sites may be required occasionally.
  • Strong working knowledge of Human Resources best practices, federal and state employment laws, and labor relations procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting a unionized workforce and administering Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs).
  • Knowledge of HRIS systems (Workday preferred) and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities; able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Effective problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply HR policies, CBA provisions, and federal regulations.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in a remote site environment.

Responsibilities

  • Employee Onboarding & Offboarding Conduct new-hire orientations, process onboarding forms, verify employment eligibility (E-Verify), and coordinate with Payroll and Corporate HR. Maintain personnel files in accordance with company retention and NASA contract requirements. Coordinate employee offboarding, exit interviews, and final pay processing.
  • Employee Relations & CBA Administration Serve as the onsite HR point of contact for AOS employees regarding policy interpretation, leave, payroll, and benefits inquiries. Provide guidance to supervisors and employees on CBA-related matters, including grievance procedures, union dues deductions, and timekeeping practices. Coordinate with the Corporate HR Manager on implementation of negotiated wage adjustments, fringe benefit changes, and CBA updates. Support investigations, counseling, and documentation for disciplinary actions in accordance with CBA and company policy. Maintain accurate seniority, job classification, and wage rate records.
  • Benefits & Leave Administration Assist employees with benefits enrollment, changes, and issue resolution; coordinate with the Benefits Lead and corporate HR. Track and report leave of absence requests, FMLA, and short-term disability claims. Provide benefit information during new-hire orientations and annual open enrollment.
  • Recruiting & Staffing Support Support local recruiting efforts by coordinating interviews, reference checks, and job postings for AOS positions. Prepare and update position descriptions, requisitions, and candidate tracking information. Maintain active communication with the Program Manager and Site Lead regarding staffing needs, reassignments, and vacancies.
  • Compliance & Reporting Ensure all HR processes align with FAR, EEO, DOL, and OFCCP requirements. Maintain employee data in Workday HRIS and generate periodic reports for management. Support audits, data calls, and internal reviews; prepare HR metrics for program and corporate reporting. Monitor and report compliance with training, certification, and medical requirements in coordination with the Training Manager.
  • HR Coordination & Communication Serve as liaison between AFRC management and Corporate HR to ensure consistent application of Yulista policies and procedures. Communicate updates on HR initiatives, benefits programs, and corporate announcements to the local workforce. Assist with workforce engagement activities and employee recognition events.
