About The Position

The HR Business Partner, in support of the SR HR Manager, will support the daily HR functions of Piping Rock’s Ronkonkoma facilities. They will assist the Sr HR Manager while partnering with leadership in all associate-related matters such as benefits, associate relations, leave administration, talent acquisition, onboarding and offboarding, the performance evaluation and performance improvement processes, new hire/associate data change maintenance within the HRIS, and enforcing and complying with company policies and practices and federal, state, and local laws.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in Human Resources or related work
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related field
  • Demonstrated skills working in a client facing role in a production environment preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to stay poised under pressure and demonstrated strong judgement
  • Can multi-task and is highly organized
  • Ability to travel to engagement events with overnight travel
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work flexible hours on occasion to allow for shift coverage when needed for meetings and events.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office, including Excel

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in both English and Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to all general associate inquiries regarding benefits, policies, procedures, and programs and escalate inquiries to SR HR Manager as appropriate.
  • Handle employee relations issues including coaching managers on how to write reviews and provide constructive feedback, advisement of employee leaves and accommodations, and more nuanced issues with the guidance of HR leadership team members
  • Attend and participate in associate disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations, as well as coach managers on how to write reviews and provide constructive feedback. Advise associates and managers on HR policies, ensuring policies are followed. Conduct exit interviews.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; assist with review of policies and practices to maintain compliance.Contribute to the HR team to develop key HR policies and practices
  • Track and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, including safety training, anti-harassment training, and more.
  • Promote and oversee logistics for events such as site-wide celebrations, such as BBQ packages, picnics, holidays, associate meeting and more.Direct support to Sr. HR Manager on department objectives and special projects Direct support to HR Department in various areas where additional support is needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
