About The Position

The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) serves as a strategic advisor and partner to Mission Produce’s East coast leadership team, aligning HR strategies with business objectives while supporting workforce planning, employee and labor relations, and organizational development initiatives. This role enhances organizational capability by fostering a high‑performing work environment, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, and providing coaching, change‑management support, and cross‑functional collaboration to advance Mission’s people‑focused priorities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a business partner or generalist role.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, coach, and build relationships at all levels of an organization.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook; HRIS system experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with leaders to understand business goals and develop HR strategies that support operational and organizational objectives.
  • Provide guidance on organizational structure, workforce planning, job design, and team development.
  • Analyze HR metrics (turnover, engagement, staffing levels, etc.) and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for employee relations matters; conduct investigations, recommend corrective actions, and ensure consistent application of policies.
  • Coach managers on performance management, conflict resolution, and employee engagement.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate development programs for managers and employees.
  • Support succession planning and leadership development initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment regulations.
  • Review policies, recommend updates, and support consistent application across departments.
  • Manage sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality.
  • Participate in and help lead site‑wide engagement programs, communication, and recognition efforts.
  • Analyze employee feedback and implement action plans to improve experience and retention.
  • Travel to other facilities on the East coast on semi-annually.
