What You Will Do: Payroll, Benefits & Leave Support Assist central office payroll with timesheet review, pay adjustments, and leave auditing. Support employees with benefits enrollment and inquiries related to retirement, workers’ compensation, unemployment, and disability programs. Assist with FMLA, ADA, and other leave programs by reviewing documentation, tracking entitlements, issuing required notices, coordinating return-to-work procedures, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Training, Orientation & Employee Engagement Coordinate new hire orientation and employee training, including scheduling, materials preparation, facilitation, and recordkeeping and scheduling interviews. Conduct follow-up meetings with new or promoted employees. Participate in engagement, recognition, and retention initiatives. Cross-Functional HR Support Provide cross-trained support across all HR functions—including staffing, benefits, payroll, leave administration, EEO/ADA compliance, and labor relations—to ensure continuity of services and effective HR operations. MAJOR WORKER CHARACTERISTICS: Knowledge of civil service laws, rules & regulations; agency human resources policies & procedures; employee benefits (e.g., workers compensation, unemployment compensation, social security, disability insurance, public employees' retirement); federal & state laws & rules governing fair employment practice (e.g., ADA, FMLA, EEO); interviewing; public relations; human resources training & development; technical writing; effective oral communication. Skill in operation of personal computer. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, & draw valid conclusions; calculate fractions, decimals & percentages; prepare meaningful, concise & accurate reports; gather, collate & classify information about data, people or things; handle sensitive inquiries from & contacts with officials & general public. Requirements

  • 2 yrs. exp. in human resources.
  • Or completion of undergraduate core program in human resources, business or public administration.
  • Or 1 yr. exp. as Human Capital Management Associate, 64611.
  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
