About The Position

The Healthcare Technology Project Coordinator applies both technology, analytic and management skills to assist and collaborate with medical and allied health staff in activities which support the Division’s mission and goals. To qualify for this position, the individual must be a high performing technologist or technician with excellent organizational skills: be able to accurately collect, analyze and draw appropriate conclusions from large data sets; have exceptional interpersonal relationship skills for interaction with all levels of medical staff and allied-health personnel; possess good written and oral communication skills; be able to work independently with minimal direction or supervision; and be able to flex work days and/or hours to meet changing workload demands and needs. The individual must have exceptional computer skills, and be proficient with Microsoft Office products, including SharePoint, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint. A working knowledge of all types of medical equipment, and the current Mayo medical equipment inventory/fleet, is essential. Responsibilities include: Coordination of division management reporting and outcomes measurements Project coordination, facilitation, and management Quality monitoring and improvement Technology Management Assessment and development of new programs related to medical equipment management/support High level departmental planning Back-up administrative support and leadership roles for section head and work unit managers Qualifications The individual must have an understanding of the medical equipment used in a hospital or clinic and how it is used for patient care and: Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience working with medical equipment in a hospital or clinic environment Or an associate’s degree from a technical school, college, or Biomedical Equipment Technology training from a United States military branch, and 5 years of experience in a biomedical technical field or strongly related technology related field Or a high school diploma and 7 years of demonstrated leadership, technical, or project management related experience at a large, complex organization like Mayo may be considered in lieu of the degree Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required. Five years of supervisory experience in a maintenance services healthcare setting preferred. Additional or advanced degrees in technical, business, or management areas are beneficial. Strong leadership, communications, and organization skills are essential. Must be skilled in the use of word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation software. Other skills such as financial, business processes, budgeting, and continuous improvement would be helpful. Authorization to work and remain in the United States, without necessity for Mayo Clinic sponsorships now, or in the future (for example, be a U.S. Citizen, national, or permanent resident, refugee, or asylee). Mayo Clinic does not participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
