About The Position

Primarily can be a remote work position, however, must live within driving distance of Rochester, MN and Mayo Clinic Health System campuses for onsite expectations. The Healthcare Technology Clinical Application Specialist (Project Coordinator) leverages clinical expertise, technology knowledge, and advanced analytical capabilities to support and optimize medical equipment programs, clinical technology initiatives, and operational workflows across the enterprise. This role partners with nursing, allied health, physicians, and vendor teams to drive data-informed decisions, standardize equipment management processes, oversee related technology projects, and deliver outcomes that advance staff and patient satisfaction. The Healthcare Technology Project Coordinator applies both technology, analytic and management skills to assist and collaborate with medical and allied health staff in activities which support the Division’s mission and goals. To qualify for this position, the individual must be a high performing technologist or technician with excellent organizational skills: be able to accurately collect, analyze and draw appropriate conclusions from large data sets; have exceptional interpersonal relationship skills for interaction with all levels of medical staff and allied-health personnel; possess good written and oral communication skills; be able to work independently with minimal direction or supervision; and be able to flex work days and/or hours to meet changing workload demands and needs. The individual must have exceptional computer skills, and be proficient with Microsoft Office products, including SharePoint, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint. A working knowledge of all types of medical equipment, and the current Mayo medical equipment inventory/fleet, is essential.

Nice To Haves

  • High-performing nurse or clinical educator preferred; experience teaching, coaching, or mentoring required
  • Advanced Microsoft Office suite proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint), Power BI/reporting tools preferred, strong data analytics ability (collection → interpretation → outcomes insight)
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clinical equipment and current Mayo fleet; familiarity with nurse call systems and workflow integration
  • Ability to manage full lifecycle projects, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, facilitate planning, and develop new programs tied to equipment utilization and technology support
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; strong interpersonal influence with medical and allied health teams; patience and coaching skillset
  • Design and deliver training programs for medical technology use across beginner →advanced levels
  • Serve as liaison between clinical teams, leadership, Biomedical Engineering, IT, and external vendors
  • Drive communication, education, competency validation, and change adoption for new medical technologies
  • Project coordination, facilitation, and management
  • Works independently with minimal supervision; able to flex hours
  • Experience with clinical workflows and hospital nurse call systems
