About The Position

Supports implementation of the RES Health, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems across wind, solar, substation, transmission, and energy storage projects in the US and Canada. This role provides hands on experience in both field and office environments, supporting HSQE activities and contributing to a strong safety culture and environmental stewardship.

Requirements

  • Highschool/GED is required.
  • Bachelors degree in progress in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent coursework is required.
  • Ability to travel 75-100% is required
  • A valid drivers license is required
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Willingness to learn and engage in both field and office environments.
  • Ability to work effectively within diverse teams.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint).

Nice To Haves

  • Osha 30 certification preferred
  • FA/CPR/AED certification preferred
  • Basic understanding of health, safety, and environmental principles preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports promotion of a positive safety culture through engagement, observation, and communication.
  • Assists with inspections of work areas to verify alignment with company procedures, client expectations, and regulatory requirements.
  • Supports incident investigations, including data collection and contributing to root cause discussions and corrective actions.
  • Assists in preparation and review of incident reports and related documentation.
  • Supports review and use of site-specific documentation including Safety Plans, Site Rules, Emergency Response Plans, Job Hazard Analyses, and site inductions.
  • Participates in safety meetings including Plan of the Day, All Hands, Tailgate Talks, and Safety Committee meetings.
  • Assists with delivery and coordination of safety training, site inductions, and HSQE initiatives
  • Supports environmental compliance activities including inspections, documentation, and reporting.
  • Assists with environmental controls such as erosion and sediment control, waste management, spill prevention, and housekeeping practices.
  • Supports tracking and maintenance of incident data, environmental data, and safety performance metrics.
  • Demonstrates safe work behaviors.
  • Attends work regularly and punctually, as scheduled or expected.
  • Complies with Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct and Company Policies & Procedures.
  • Presents, supports, and leads-by-example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.
  • Supports HSQE improvement initiatives and special projects as assigned
  • Follows safety and security procedures and determines appropriate action.
  • Reports potentially unsafe conditions and uses materials and equipment properly.
  • Ensures that safety is the most important function, follows safe practices while working.
  • Reinforces safe behaviors and eliminates “at risk” behaviors.

  • Ensures Job Hazard Analysis (JHA’s) occurs before scopes of work commence.
  • Adheres to and understands standard operating procedures.
  • Receives job- and task-specific training prior to work commencing.
  • Follows technical, quality and safety systems in place and determines appropriate action.
