About The Position

Lead HSE excellence in a high-impact manufacturing role Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this role owns the development and execution of a proactive Health, Safety, and Environmental program that aligns with Pactiv Evergreen’s (PTVE) standards and meets all local, state, and federal requirements. Your mission Champion the HSE Pillar of the Pactiv Evergreen Production System (PEPs) to embed safety into daily operations. Drive and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and programs that prevent injuries and reduce risk. Implement PTVE Environmental, Health & Safety Management Technical Standards across the facility. Success looks like Fewer injuries, stronger compliance posture, and visible risk reduction. Consistent execution of standards and programs that withstand audits and time. Engaged teams aligned to measurable EHS goals across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Own the plant safety portion of internal and external regulatory audits; track and close findings.
  • Keep OSHA- and EPA-required written programs up to date; develop and deliver training.
  • Lead reporting and investigations for incidents, near-misses, and health/safety concerns.
  • Conduct water sampling and outfall inspections to ensure environmental compliance.
  • Provide tactical leadership: identify gaps, design solutions, and implement lasting improvements.
  • Promote and reinforce a Zero Harm culture through communication and coaching.
  • Develop and deploy best-practice policies and programs within the PTVE system.
  • Establish strong communication and governance with plant leadership—reporting, assessments, training, and guidance.
  • Partner with Corporate EHS; set priorities and give technical direction to engineering teams and contractors on EHS projects.
  • Align the site to corporate, business unit, and local EHS performance objectives.
  • Use data trends to pinpoint the next opportunities for performance gains.
  • Apply innovative methods—employee engagement, behavior-based safety, and risk assessments—to implement, manage, and sustain HSE programs in a manufacturing environment.
