Oversee, direct, and manage the day-to-day operations of the Football Program. Is knowledgeable about the game, game management, planning, training, and rules. Develop and execute an effective training program. Monitor student-athletes academic performance to ensure they meet eligibility requirements. Motivate, train, and mentor student-athletes on and off the Field. Instruct and guide student-athletes to lead them to the formulation and enhancement of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline, and self-confidence. Promote good sportsmanship amongst teammates, coaches, opponents, officials, and fans. Cooperate with the School Athletic Director and the District Athletic Department in regard to requests for information that might be pertinent and/or periodically required,in a timely manner. Adhere to all requirements mandated by the CPS District Board of Education, The Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA), and The Ohio Department of Education (ODE) relative to the mandated Coaches Tool Chest (CTC) Training/ Certification and the ODE Pupil Activity Permit. Recognize the need to be aware of and implement all applicable administrative polices set forth by the District Board of Education, Superintendents of Schools, School Principals, Conference Leagues, ODE, and OHSAA. Follow the CPS District Athletic Department Policies as outlined in the Coaches Handbook and meet all criteria as outlined in the job description. Serve as a role model. Model the behavior expected of our student-athletes including timeliness to practices and games, good sportsmanship, and being respectfull while upholding the disciplines of the program. Maintain an appropriate conduct towards student-athletes, officials, and spectators at all times. Accept and profit from constructive criticism and suggestions for improving coaching performance. Schedule and coördinate all games and contests including State Tournament Games. Follow proper due process when violations occur. Participate in Clinics and other available programs to improve coaching performance. Participate in School events (i.e., Awards Night, Pep Assemblies, Athletic Boosters Meetings, etc. Ensure the safety and well-being of student-athletes. Ensure that team is well-prepared for opponents. Care and maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.
