About The Position

JOB ANNOUNCEMENT Job Title: HS Dance Team Coach- Marshfield High School Upbeats Position Description Extra Duty Contract – HS Dance Team Qualifications Valid First Aid card Experience as a dance coach at the high school level, preferred Ability to work successfully with students, parents, staff and public Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to : Works with team members during practices and meets. Holds organizational meetings for team prospects and encourages students to participate. Develops a regular practice schedule and organizes practice time to provide both individual and team development. Works with athletic director(s) in scheduling facilities for practices and competition. Coaches and instructs dancers, individually or in groups, regarding the rules, regulations, equipment and techniques of the sport. Observes dancers, during events and practice to determine the needs for individual or team improvement. Establishes and maintains standards of pupil behavior and provides proper supervision of students at all times. Monitors the academic performance of team members to ensure that eligibility requirements are met. Follows established procedures in the event of an injury. Models sport-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards dancers, officials and spectators. Participates in special activities to include Pirate Nights, banquets, award nights and pep assemblies.
