About The Position

This HRIS Specialist position at Nationwide Children's Hospital involves analyzing, developing, and implementing information system projects and reports for HR/Payroll and other internal customers. The role is primarily responsible for maintaining HR information, including implementation, testing, training, problem-resolution, auditing, data analysis, and administration of the Workday HCM system. The specialist will also assist with system implementation, configuration, testing, training, auditing, and ongoing maintenance of HRIS systems across all HR and Payroll functions, serving as a backup for other HRIS Systems Analysts for Workday HCM modules. Key tasks include identifying, developing, and programming system enhancements for optimization, running reports, and interacting with vendors for system interfaces. The role also provides technical assistance, training, and problem resolution for HRIS systems like Workday HCM and Kronos, ensuring all system documentation and training materials are current. The initial 60 days of this role will be on-site, transitioning to a hybrid model requiring 2 days a month on-site thereafter. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, human resources, computer science, or healthcare administration; or equivalent work-related experience
  • Knowledge of information systems principles and techniques
  • Knowledge of timekeeping systems
  • Knowledge of human resources principles
  • Advanced skills in word processing and spreadsheet applications (i.e. Microsoft Word/Excel/Access)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and strong analytical skills
  • One year of human resources experience, preferably in a health care setting
  • Two years of experience in a customer-service related capacity
  • Extensive knowledge of labor, EEO, and wage and hour laws

Responsibilities

  • Maintains HR information, implementation, testing, training, problem-resolution, auditing and data analysis, and administration of the Workday HCM system.
  • Assists with system implementation, configuration, testing, training, auditing, and ongoing maintenance of HRIS systems as it relates to all areas of HR and Payroll.
  • Serves as backup to the other HRIS Systems Analysts for all modules of Workday HCM.
  • Identifies, develops, and programs system enhancements to ensure system optimization, runs reports, and interacts with vendors to establish system interfaces.
  • Provides immediate technical assistance, training, and problem resolution whenever possible on HRIS systems, including Workday HCM and Kronos.
  • Ensures system documentation and training materials are kept current and up to date.
