About The Position

As part of the Department of Administration, the State Human Resources Division contributes to the strategic and operating success of the State of Montana through partnerships with other agency human resources professionals to provide innovative programs, services, systems, and solutions in support of state employees and agency workforce strategies. We are looking for an individual to provide technical assistance to users of our HRIS platforms. In this role you would assist users (e.g., applicants, employees, and human resource staff) in addressing questions and resolving technical issues; document user issues; train users on processes and procedures; participate in the development of user guides; and assist with testing system enhancements prior to deployment.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in information technology or related discipline, plus on year of experience working in a help desk or similar role
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to interface with employees and managers in both positive and challenging situations
  • Ability to learn and quickly use enterprise-wide systems and software is a must
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software suite to include Word, Excel, and Outlook programs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Maintains confidentiality, as this position has frequent contact and access to confidential personnel information
  • Identifies and resolves problems appropriately within areas of responsibility
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness and monitors own work to ensure quality work output
  • Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing priorities, and can deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events
  • Is an enthusiastic team player and can work independently with limited supervision
  • This position requires the successful completion of a criminal background check
