About The Position

The HRIS Data Manager plays a key role in optimizing, maintaining, and enhancing the organization’s Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS). This position is responsible for configuring system functionality to support evolving business needs, ensuring data accuracy, and developing meaningful reports that support HR operations—including total rewards, compliance, headcount vs. budget analysis, and workforce analytics. This role collaborates with vendors on system improvements, defines system specifications, and serves as the initial point of contact for inquiries related to healthcare, retirement, compensation, and other employee data matters.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of HR information systems and advanced technical proficiency in at least one commercial HRIS (UKG Pro strongly preferred).
  • Knowledge of HR policies and procedures and how they align with HRIS capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Thorough understanding of employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and safeguard sensitive data.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, HR, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum of three years of HRIS support experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in HR Management, MIS, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to employee benefit programs (ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, Workers’ Compensation, Medicare, OBRA, Social Security, DOL requirements) preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as SHRM‑CP, SHRM‑SCP, or PMP® preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Gather and consolidate HR metrics and data from HRIS, payroll, benefits, exit interviews, labor statistics, and industry benchmarks.
  • Analyze HR data to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights to support strategic decisions.
  • Manage HRIS functionality, ensuring data accuracy, system optimization, troubleshooting, and vendor partnership on enhancements.
  • Develop HR dashboards, reports, and metrics; create user guides and train others on recurring reporting processes.
  • Ensure HRIS processes support compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, HR Business Partners, and external stakeholders to support HR initiatives.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to contribute to moderately complex projects.
  • Conduct user training and develop documentation, procedures, and guidelines for system functionality and processes.
  • Play a significant role in monitoring headcount, analyzing recruitment trends, and supporting departmental budget management.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
