About The Position

The University of New Mexico Division of Human Resources – Service Operations Team within the HR Innovation, Technology and Analysis Department is seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused individual to join the Transaction Center team as an HR Tech. In this role, the selected candidate will act as a resource for university departments providing support with HR systems and ensuring the accurate and timely processing of transactions across the staff employee life cycle. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, collaborating across cross-functional teams, and delivering high-quality service while helping departments navigate both HR processes and system-related needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting HR projects involving technology implementation or system upgrades, preferably within a university setting.
  • Familiarity with UNM HR systems and processes, including experience processing employment transactions and hiring documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize a variety of employment transactions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service skills, with a collaborative and solution-oriented approach.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with HRIS systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational support for HR systems, including assistance with timekeeping, performance evaluation processes, and technology implementation questions.
  • Support departments and employees in the day-to-day application of HR processes, procedures, documentation, and system tools.
  • Coordinate and help resolve procedural inquiries, partnering closely with internal HR teams to ensure accurate, consistent, and timely solutions.
  • Review, verify, and process employment and personnel transactions in compliance with university standards, policies, and applicable regulations.
