About The Position

The Staffing Coordinator will implement effective recruiting and staffing strategies by listening to the needs of assigned supervisors and selecting the best qualified candidates for the annual OC Fair. This is a temporary seasonal position not to exceed 122 days.

Requirements

  • Previous recruiting experience
  • College graduate in a relevant field or pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
  • Strong communication skills, orally and in writing, with all levels of staff, the general public, and the people we support
  • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative
  • Self motivated, focused, and with a positive attitude
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity to complete work, follow-through, and meet deadlines independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent computer skills and experience with recruiting systems
  • Ability to be flexible to work some evenings and weekends as needed for interviews

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual Spanish
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems and Human Resources Information Systems
  • BS/BA in Human Resources Management/Business Management or related field

Responsibilities

  • Screen applicants by phone and in person, track qualified candidates, and coordinate interview schedules with candidates and supervisors in a timely and organized manner.
  • Utilize the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to verify eligibility status of applicants and make adjustments to their hiring process accordingly
  • Respond timely and professionally to inquiries in person, by phone, or via email
  • Provide guidance and day‑to‑day support to the Staffing Assistant to ensure consistent and accurate completion of hiring tasks
  • Maintain consistent communication with candidates throughout the hiring process to provide updates, clarify requirements, and ensure a positive applicant experience
  • Service as a Human Resources Representative to ensure interview processes follow HR‑approved guidelines and lawful interview practices to support fair and compliant hiring practices
  • Maintain accurate files (hard copies and electronic) in accordance with HR guidelines
  • Supports compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies
  • Maintain confidentiality of applicant and employee information in accordance with HR policies and procedures
  • Represent the organization at local and virtual job fairs by engaging with applicants and promoting the benefits of working at the OC Fair & Event Center to attract quality candidates
  • Continuously partner with the Human Resources team and supervisors to design, refine, and implement innovative recruiting strategies
  • Schedule Zoom interviews and send calendar invitations to interview panel members to ensure accurate and timely interview coordination
