About The Position

This position is available for hybrid remote work with a need to provide weekly on-site support in our new Shirlington location. Under the direction of the CHRO, the Human Resources Specialist performs day to day activities related to support for the employees and management at our new Shirlington location in the appropriate execution of policies and procedures in Human Resources administration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Human Resources or related field and a minimum of three years’ relevant and progressive experience OR equivalent education and experience
  • Prior experience in high touch recruiting required.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong collaborative abilities
  • Experience in HRIS/Payroll system required.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects or assignments at one time and ability to multi-task
  • Thorough research and problem-solving skills
  • Astute at meeting deadlines while maintaining compliance and regulatory standards
  • Capable of providing a balanced and common-sense approach to routine and complex issues
  • Excel at working well while under pressure.

Nice To Haves

  • ADP WFN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the high-touch recruitment process from interviewing to onboarding for the Child Development Center (CDC) including job posts, reviewing resumes, and performing background investigations including reference checks
  • Assist in processing new hire onboarding paperwork to include offer letters through JazzHR applicant tracking system
  • Conduct new hire orientation and benefits orientation to build a strong foundation for new employees and increase employee engagement
  • Distribute, complete, and process payroll paperwork for new hires and current staff in ADP Workforce Now
  • Work with employees to answer benefits, payroll, and policy questions
  • Support assuring CDC employees are paid accurately and on time by establishing strong relationships with supervisors and staff
  • Coordinate exit process for departing employees
  • Explain human resources policies, procedures, laws, and standards to new and existing employees
  • Address any employment relations issues, such as work complaints and harassment allegations in collaboration with the National HR team
  • Other duties as assigned.
