About The Position

POSITION SUMMARY The HR Specialist supports day-to-day operations within the Human Resources department. This role partners closely with plant leadership and employees to ensure compliance with labor laws, effective workforce administration, and a positive employee experience. The HR Specialist plays a key role in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training coordination, employee event planning, budget and HR reporting, while supporting production goals and safety standards. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering policies and helping resolve work-related problems. Perform difficult staffing duties, including refereeing disputes, terminating employees, and administering disciplinary actions. Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, opportunities for promotion and employee benefits. Support management on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment and recommend needed changes. Provide support to management and attorneys for any personnel-related hearings and investigations. Assist with audits, inspections and compliance training. Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as EEO-1 reporting, turnover, transfers, and discipline issues. Manage non-exempt staffing vacancies and recruit, interview and select applicants. Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives. Conduct exit interviews to identify reasons for employment termination. Administer onboarding for new associates to include but not limited to administering and monitoring background checks, applicant testing, entering employee data into HRIS system; new-hire and compliance paperwork, etc. Responsible for specified areas of Administration and Plant-Wide Administration's budgets. Assist in developing special projects that impact Associate Morale such as Associate Events, and Service Award Program. Contact and work with vendors to provide Associate Services. Responsible for updating and maintaining the Associate Handbook to include but not limited to working with Associate Committee members, the Administration Team, and outside legal counsel to ensure accuracy and legal compliance. Assist in any administrative functional roles to help fulfill the associate and management's needs to provide a pleasant and compliant work environment Help prepare daily, weekly & monthly meeting presentations, reports and sustain their viability and usefulness. Complete EEO-1 reporting and Unemployment claim responses on behalf of Yusa Corporation. Other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite to include but not limited to Word; Excel; PowerPoint; Outlook etc.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to learn utilize multiple different platforms and databases for HR and compliance related tasks; prior professional work experience in Paylocity HRIS database preferred.
