About The Position

HR Representative II performs a broad range of administrative and operational duties in support of the organization’s human resources objectives and initiatives. The role provides responsive and professional service to employees, managers, and leadership in areas such as HR operations, onboarding and offboarding coordination, payroll documentation support, benefits and leave administration support, compliance tracking, HRIS maintenance, reporting, and culture initiatives. The HR Representative II ensures that all assigned responsibilities are carried out in accordance with company values, internal policies, established procedures, and applicable employment regulations. The position serves as an operational resource, responsible for accuracy, organization, and consistency across HR processes, while appropriately escalating complex or sensitive matters.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of progressive experience in human resources, payroll, benefits administration, or leave management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with demonstrated experience using Excel, such as creating formulas and pivot tables.
  • Experience navigating and entering data within HRIS systems.
  • Basic knowledge of federal and state employment law, including FMLA, ADA, and wage and hour fundamentals.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain accurate and confidential records.
  • Able to support cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred (or willingness to pursue certification as part of professional development).

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a support resource throughout the employee lifecycle by providing guidance and coordinating HR processes related to onboarding, employment changes, benefits and leave procedures, payroll documentation, and offboarding activities.
  • Maintain accurate, secure, and confidential employee records in accordance with legal requirements, company policies, and data privacy standards, exercising discretion and ethical judgment in handling sensitive information.
  • Coordinate employee data changes within HRIS systems, including promotions, transfers, pay changes, and terminations, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
  • Perform periodic data integrity reviews within HRIS systems and escalate discrepancies as appropriate.
  • Support benefits administration activities as needed, such as but not limited to assisting with enrollment documentation, qualifying life event tracking, responding to routine employee inquiries, while escalating complex matters appropriately.
  • Assist with leave administration tracking and documentation coordination while escalating eligibility determinations and compliance-sensitive matters to HR leadership.
  • Coordinate data changes and documentation related to payroll activities and assist with payroll documentation tracking and service ticket routing.
  • Support internal audit preparation, documentation reviews, and compliance tracking efforts as assigned.
  • Assist with compiling HR metrics, reports, and dashboards (e.g., turnover, headcount, leave usage, benefits tracking) to support leadership decision-making.
  • Manage and triage HR service tickets to ensure timely routing and resolution of employee and manager inquiries.
  • Provide coordination and administrative support for HR initiatives, programs, and projects, including documentation updates and SOP maintenance.
  • Support employee engagement programs, recognition efforts, and company events as assigned.
  • Handle work requests with discretion, sound judgment, and professionalism while maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive employee and company information.
  • Escalate sensitive, high-risk, or compliance-related inquiries to HR Generalists or HR leadership.
  • Draft and distribute employee communications related to HR processes, updates, and reminders.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the HR department and the organization.
