About The Position

The HR Operations Specialist plays a key role in assisting in the administration of all HR functions including strategic development, departmental efficiency, and employee management. The HR Operations Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate processing and recording of S.T. International, Inc and Aprecia’s semi-monthly payrolls, providing timely and accurate financial information, and participating in data entry payroll processing. This individual will serve as a liaison between the Human Resources Department and employees for effective communication and conflict resolution.

  • B.A. degree in Human Resources, Communication, Business Administration, or a related discipline required
  • 1-2 years of previous human resources experience required
  • Working knowledge of payroll best practices
  • Working knowledge of federal and state regulations
  • Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 25 pounds
  • Manual dexterity to operate computers, keyboard, and other general office equipment
  • Good eyesight to read, create, and interpret company communications and other position-related materials
  • Good hearing to greet visitors and address their needs
  • Ability to move around the facility to meet with team members and assist on projects in other areas of the facility
  • Occasional odd body positions (bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, etc.) in the performance of position responsibilities

Nice To Haves

  • 2-4 years of experience processing multi-state, multi-local payroll preferred
  • Knowledge of Paycom preferred

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate company values by developing trust and respect among the organization by building strong relationships and driving results across the organization.
  • Administer all components of the payroll system. Monitor hourly time submissions and ensure compliance with internal policies and applicable laws. Reconcile payroll prior to transmission and confirm accurate reports.
  • Work with Benefits and 401(k) Advisory firms in the selection of new benefit programs or 401(k) Plan document updates.
  • Process withholding submissions including 401k contributions and loans, wage garnishments, HSA & FSA contributions, etc. Process new employee enrollments and or coverage changes in the payroll system and various benefit carriers.
  • Assist employees in registering access in payroll system and implement payroll procedures. Process multi-state and multi-local taxes.
  • Maintain Company organizational charts, headcount reports, and KPIs as requested
  • Track and provide assistance with updating HR policies and procedures
  • Assist with compliance duties such as handling legal notices, government reporting such as EEO-1 and Affirmative Action Programs. Maintain confidentiality in all areas of HR and Payroll.
  • Prepare various confidential departmental reports as requested by Senior Leadership and Family Board
  • Organize and process hours for seasonal help (year-round) – manage time tracking system and communicate with CM Personnel for new seasonal help and hours/pay
  • Update and monitor compensation surveys to remain current
