About The Position

The Onboarding Specialist plays a key role in ensuring Enterprise Electrical’s new hires experience a smooth, accurate, and positive transition into the company. This position serves as the primary point of contact for new employees from offer acceptance through mobilization, overseeing all onboarding activities across office and multi-state field project locations. Responsibilities include coordinating orientation, managing HRIS records, ensuring compliance with federal and state employment requirements, and aligning start-date logistics with HR, Recruitment, Payroll, IT, Safety, and Operations. The specialist prepares and routes New Hire Alerts, verifies the accuracy of job details, licensing, compensation, and project assignments, and ensures all onboarding documents, background checks, I-9, and safety trainings are completed before a new hire begins work. This role also supports employee relations needs, maintains confidential HR files, assists with performance and training programs. Through consistent communication, organization, and collaboration, the Onboarding Specialist upholds Enterprise Electrical’s core values and helps ensure a professional, timely, and compliant onboarding experience for every new team member.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in an onboarding specialist or similar HR role.
  • Strong understanding of pre-employment and onboarding best practices.
  • Proficiency in HR software, systems, and preemployment screening tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Strong problem-solving, conflict-resolution, and critical-thinking abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for new hires and employees, addressing pre-employment, onboarding, benefits, and schedules.
  • Facilitate new hire orientation both virtual and in person and ensure timely completion of all onboarding documents, background checks, I-9 and E-Verify requirements, safety training, and job-specific instructions.
  • Coordinate nationwide start dates, mobilization logistics, and onboarding deliverables with HR, Recruitment, Payroll, IT, Safety, and Operations to ensure new hire readiness.
  • Prepare and route New Hire Alerts, confirming hardware and software setup, email creation, PPE needs, per diem setup, shipping instructions, and project assignment accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate HRIS and BambooHR records including start dates, documents, licensing, certifications, job titles, rates, and retention details.
  • Provide ongoing updates to HR leadership, hiring managers, and project teams regarding onboarding progress, risks, and employee relations concerns.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive workplace culture by supporting employee relations, maintaining confidential HR files, assisting with performance review processes, and coordinating training and development programs.
