About The Position

Exciting things are happening within DNCR and the NC Zoo! We are seeking an enthusiastic and outgoing professional to serve as Division HR Manager and oversee a full range of human resources services onsite at the NC Zoo. This position is positioned under the central Human Resources team and reports to the Assistant HR Director for Divisions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, typically in Human Resources or related field from an appropriately accredited institution and at least 4 years of experience in human resources with some experience in an HR lead position or Equivalent combination or education and experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated knowledge of human resources principles and practices as an HR generalist or specialist in two or more of the core HR areas, such as salary administration, time and leave, recruitment/selection, benefits administration, organizational management and/or classification and compensation.
  • Demonstrated experience with HR functions in an Integrated HR -Payroll System.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and/or directing HR Programs while motivating and supervising the work of HR professionals and/or technical specialists.
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing problems and formulating recommendations and skill in negotiating resolutions to issues/concerns.

  • Providing technical and consultative services to clients in a variety of functional areas to include: o Policy Interpretation o Salary administration o Recruitment/selection o Benefits o Time and leave o Classification/job evaluation o Employee Relations o Disciplinary Actions o Performance Management
  • Supervising and acting as a business partner in the creation and implementation of HR initiatives.
  • Planning and processing improvements supporting the business direction and human resources needs primarily for the NC Zoo and may assist other divisions as needs arise.
  • Managing and serving on project teams as assigned.
  • Serving as HR Partner to the Division as a member of Senior leadership, supporting Division initiatives.
