About The Position

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Manager supports the daily operations of the HR department within a professional law firm environment. This role is responsible for administering HR policies, procedures, and programs, while ensuring compliance with employment laws and maintaining confidentiality. The HR Manager works closely with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative staff to support recruitment, employee relations, and performance management.

  • Minimum 5 years of H.R. experience, preferably at a law firm
  • Effective and efficient communication, data management and interpersonal skills
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Working knowledge of Human Resources policy and Federal and State labor laws
  • Knowledge of and capacity to learn many facets of Human Resources including the functional areas of recruiting, talent management, compliance, leave administration
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality and to treat every level of staff with respect, professionalism and empathy
  • Strong technical skills; ideally having experience with HRIS and ATS systems, preferably iSolved

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full life cycle hiring process for exempt and non-exempt roles (job description, job postings, scheduling interviews, etc.)
  • Support hiring directors and managers throughout the search process, utilizing a proactive, organized, service-oriented approach to recruitment-related activities
  • Utilize strategic sourcing methods to build pools of qualified candidates
  • Provide HR Compliance support and conducting internal audits to ensure compliance with Federal, State and local employment laws
  • Maintain personal and confidential information and matters regarding personnel records, medical information, employee relations and organizational changes
  • Facilitate the new-hire process including sending offer letters, conducting pre-employment screenings, and coordinating onboarding and new-hire orientations
  • Assist with maintenance of all HR processes and documentation on HRIS system
  • Assist in drafting HR-related policies and documentation, focusing on improving employee experience and compliance.
  • Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, complete, support or lead HR related tasks or projects which may be related to any functional area of HR
  • Serve as a backup to the HR Coordinator when needed
