About The Position

As a key member of the Leadership Team, the Human Resource Manager will fulfill leadership duties and provide input for strategy, direction and continuous improvement. The HR Manager is responsible for overseeing all facets of HR, including employee relations, talent management, and engagement. The HR Manager drives the strategic HR plan at the operational level and defines and implements initiates to ensure continued success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • A minimum of three years of human resource management experience in manufacturing required.
  • 3+ years payroll processing experience.
  • 3+ years of HRIS management experience. Experience with ADP preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to effectively respond to and interact with all levels of organization staff, including executives.
  • Flexible, innovative in a fast paced and growth-oriented environment.

Nice To Haves

  • PHR or SHRM certification highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Administers and manages employee benefit plans: Medical, Dental, Vision, STD, LTD, FSA, COBRA etc. Coordinates with carriers to ensure proper procedures and regulations are followed.
  • Manages all worker's compensation injuries and maintains OSHA 300 Log.
  • Coordinates with General Manager and other management to define employment needs and projected production (shift) requirements.
  • Coordinates all recruiting, interviews, and onboarding. Assists management with recruiting, pre-screening, and interviewing of potential candidates.
  • Maintains employee attendance (point system), paid time off, and leaves of absence (FMLA).
  • Assists with processing of weekly payroll (ADP).
  • Manages and maintains the human resources information system (HRIS) through ADP.
  • Manages and maintains employment documentation and responses for unemployment claims or hearings, wage verification, employment verifications and reference requests.
  • Coordinates and conducts exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.
  • Makes recommendations to reduce turnover and absenteeism.
  • Manages all personnel and medical records for all employees, including all required documentation.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Oversees employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Creates learning and development programs and initiatives that prove internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Manages and contributes to employee handbook revisions.
  • Manages and maintains job descriptions.
  • Coordinates and conducts management trainings on subjects including terminations, sexual harassment, interviewing and performance management.
  • Investigates and advises management in appropriate resolution of associate relation issues.
  • Participates in professional development activities through attendance at educational meetings and programs, review of professional literature and other related activities.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
