The HR Team at Pella Northland is focused on supporting our internal customers, our people! In this role, you'll be supporting the HR Department's initiatives by providing administrative support on projects. Additionally, you’ll help with training efforts and various HR projects by performing necessary research and sharing your ideas with the HR Manager. The goal of this internship is for you to become an integral part of the department's daily operation and to experience "real world" situations that will develop you for your professional career. This position will be temporary, 40 hours a week during the Summer of 2026. Pella is a great company to work for, but don't just take our word for it!   • Must be working toward a Bachelor's Degree (B.S.) in Business or related major from a four-year college or university.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and upholds the utmost standard of integrity and confidentiality.
  • Relays information shared by team members to GM of HR.
  • Support HR led events, such as new hire orientation and engagement events.
  • May assist in organizing company events such as quarterly meetings.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with applicants, team members, and leaders in the organization.
  • Copies and produces up-to-date orientation packets.
  • Assists in reviewing applications and conducting phone screens
  • May assist in pre-employment onboarding process.
  • Confirm interviews and start dates with candidates.
  • Greeting new hires on their first day.
  • Verifies that employee and recruiting records are maintained in the proper file system.
  • Conducts records retention compliance activities to include scanning, filing, organizing and storing in appropriate repository.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office and other human resources related software.
  • Supports data mining activities within HR related systems.
  • Assists with system implementation/update projects.
  • Assists with compliance needs.
  • Supports training and development initiatives as requested.
