About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Generalist to serve as the on‑site HR partner for our Wallingford, CT location. This role will act as the primary point of contact for employees and managers, providing guidance on policies, performance, and workplace matters.  Your HR expertise will help you conduct full-cycle recruiting, new hire onboarding, employee relations, and the administration of employee leaves and workers’ compensation, while contributing to engagement, communications, and HR initiatives.  You’ll collaborate closely with and receive support from a cohesive HR team based at our Massachusetts headquarters, ensuring consistent practices while delivering responsive, local support. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business preferred.
  • 3+ years HR experience with significant talent acquisition experience
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply Company policies
  • Demonstrated confidence and sound judgment, with the ability to operate independently as the sole on‑site HR representative and effectively influence and partner with leaders in a changing and growing environment. 
  • Ability to build trust and credibility with employees across multiple levels of the organization
  • Experience with leave administration (FMLA/CT Paid Leave/ADA/Workers’ Comp).
  • Strong knowledge of employment law; SHRM‑CP or PHR preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ADP HRIS.
  • Excellent communication, coaching, and organizational skills; ability to maintain confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working in a field-service based industry, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead full‑cycle recruiting: work with managers to define job requirements, post jobs, source, screen and interview candidates, prepare and extend offers as well as represent the company at hiring events.
  • Lead the new hire onboarding and orientation processes.
  • Partner with and coach managers on employee relations issues, performance discussions, corrective action documentation as well as the performance review process.
  • Administer FMLA, ADA, CT Paid Leave, and workers’ compensation; coordinate return‑to‑work.
  • Respond to employee questions about benefits and policies; provide support to employees during open enrollment.
  • Maintain accurate HR and confidential records; use ADP HRIS for updates and reporting.
  • Leverage ADP and other reporting tools to track employee retention, turnover trends, onboarding effectiveness and recruiting metrics. 
  • Assist with HR communications, employee engagement activities, events, and training initiatives.
  • Maintain knowledge of and compliance with federal, state and local regulations concerning employment
