About The Position

New Freedom’s HR Generalist plays a vital role in supporting HR leadership and the broader HR team by effectively carrying out key human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, compliance, employee relations, benefits administration, and learning and development, as defined by the laws, best practices, and contractual requirements that exist. This position is essential to maintaining efficient, day-to-day operations that align with New Freedom’s core values. The HR Generalist collaborates closely with employees and leaders across the company to promote a positive and engaging employee experience – contributing to New Freedom’s reputation as an employer of choice in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Recruitment & Onboarding Support high‑volume, values‑based recruitment across all departments
  • Partner with hiring managers on candidate screening, interviews, offers, and onboarding
  • Coordinate hiring initiatives and events; track and analyze recruiting metrics
  • Ensure all new hire, transfer, and promotion documentation is accurate and complete
  • Employee Relations & Support Serve as a point of contact for employee and leadership HR questions
  • Support routine employee relations issues, investigations, and disciplinary actions
  • Promote a respectful, professional, and values‑aligned workplace
  • HR Administration & Compliance Maintain accurate, confidential employee records in the HRIS and personnel files
  • Ensure completion and tracking of I‑9s, background checks, credentials, licenses, and training
  • Support internal and external audits and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations
  • Manage credential suspensions and reasonable suspicion concerns, as needed
  • Benefits, Leave & Payroll Support Support employee questions related to benefits and open enrollment
  • Assist with FMLA, ADA accommodations, and leave requests
  • Partner with HR team members to support timekeeping, payroll processes, and unemployment claims
  • Learning, Engagement & Systems Support new hire orientation and ongoing onboarding improvements
  • Assist with training coordination, compliance education, and employee engagement efforts
  • Generate HR reports, track key metrics, and help maintain HRIS data integrity
  • Additional Responsibilities Support HR initiatives such as performance reviews, engagement surveys, internal communications, and HR programs
  • Assist with employee changes including transfers, promotions, and terminations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
