About The Position

Boos & Associates is growing, we were recently named one of the Fastest Growing Accounting Firms and Businesses in the Fresno area by the Fresno Business Journal. That growth has led us to expand to different markets, and we are in need of a dynamic and experienced HR Generalist to join our team. This role is open to candidates located in Fresno, CA. The ideal candidate will support the full spectrum of human resources functions within a fast-paced accounting firm. This role requires a well-rounded professional who is detail-oriented, service-minded, and comfortable balancing employee support with firm policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in HR software and systems (e.g., ADP & Hub)
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
  • Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Human Resources Generalist or HR-related experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Experience in a professional services or accounting firm, required
  • Experience supporting multi-state employees

Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, and manage job advertisements across various platforms.
  • Experienced in the recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and hiring.
  • Ensure a welcome and positive onboarding experience for new team members.
  • Regularly review and update I-9s
  • Assist with conflict resolution and promote a positive, professional workplace culture.
  • Handle and respond to employee grievances in a professional and timely manner.
  • Maintain open lines of communication between employees and management.
  • Process and monitor requests for Leave of Absence (LOA), maternity leave, sick leave, and other time-off requests.
  • Assist with overtime requests and process in collaboration with management
  • Develop, review, and update training and development programs and policies.
  • Conduct one-month follow-up meetings with new hires to gather feedback and address concerns.
  • Address and resolve performance issues, providing support and corrective actions as needed.
  • Assist with preparation of the annual performance process.
  • Experienced with offboarding process including terminations, resignations, and exit interviews.
  • Ensure completion of all final paperwork and transition processes.
  • Enter and maintain employee payroll data, including wage changes, deductions, and tax updates.
  • Audit payroll reports for discrepancies and resolve errors before final processing.
  • Ensure payroll practices comply with federal, state, and local labor laws (overtime, meal/rest breaks, minimum wage changes, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate payroll records for audits, reporting, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide HR support for staff management, including hiring, terminations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Monitor and establish HR processes; ensure timely resolution of escalated HR issues.
  • Serve as a point of contact for various requests and approvals, facilitating timely resolutions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
